Do any of yous know a good and free program which can compress say a 10mb song to only 3 mbs or something, coz i have seen people with like 1-2 mb songs which have lengths of 3-4 mins thanks in advance
si, i know!!! nero!!! nero audio editor.. but that means lowering the kps though... download it on my threads Edit: heres a little tut open encode audio new window select audio file see the selected, click on setting in settings click the bitrates you want.. after that press go and it'll convert. while convert look Results: the result was when i used the variable bitrate which was low quality to get that result for me. Use the [Thanks] button if you found this useful to you.
slower? no, but the sound quality doesn't sound as good as original since it has been compressed into a smaller file... but hope that helped u
try converting to mono and or using wma files are usually smaller get 1m for 4 minuter for audio book stuff
What I recommend on MP3 converter into a smaller one would be the EASY CD-DA EXTRACTOR which can be found in this website: http://www.poikosoft.com/ I used this for a long time and I'd say that this program is the best that I have used so far. I recommend you to compress it to 128 kbps or 192 kbps if you want to compress the song file. Not only that, but you can change it to AAC or WMA, MP3 or a higher bitrate if you want to. you can normalize the volume so that one song won't be louder than the other. I Hope that this will help you.
lol why would you want to do this.. most MP3's are already such crappy quality... i cant stand anything encoded at lower than 192 kbps. if you want to compress them though, there are tons of programs out there which will encode them into lower kbps and thus smaller file size.
nice avy fearless... =) anyways back to topic as u said, mp3 is already compressed... its decent quality for what u get out of it i don't see the need to reduce the quality even further?? usually i try to aim for larger mp3 sizes with better quality! but as others have said, just reduce the quality and thats what u get... smaller sizes =) dunno y'd u want that these days?
well maybe his mp3 don't have that much space some mp3 player only has a 512mb.. so ppl want to make it as small as possible??? lolz yea.. i can easily tell difference between low quality and high quality mp3s..
lol coz my DS sd card is ike full =P , some songs are like 10 mbs -_- and i try to make them smaller haha, if only the DS worked wth 4 gbs or something
4gb is enough >.< and why would u use your ds for music.. i've done that once.. thought it was too stupid....
Those 10MB+ files you have are probably 320kbps encodes. Unless you have a high end output source, you probably won't be able to notice much difference if you drop it down to 192kbpsVBR using the LAME encoder. At 128kbps VBR it usually equates to approximately 1MB per min of music. Iit will be slightly higer if you want 192, so that's around 5MB average per song. For the proggy, try dbpoweramp or Exact Audio Copy. EAC is freeware, but it doesn't come with a package of encoders. You'll need to go find and grab those yourself then.
May I ask why you want to compress mp3? Audio files with higher bit-rates will sound better than audio files with lower bit-rates. Because of this audio files that are larger sound better than the compressed counter part. Compressing audio compromises audio detail, this is called a lossy audio format. Personally, I want the larger files.
exactly!! ds for music?? wat da?? just get any basic mp3 player and u'd get like 10gb or so, and thats def more than enuff!! even my 1st gen nano is 4gb, and i never get the chance to go thru all the stuff there (only cos the battery runs out ) seriously, it's not worth downgrading the quality its like we're moving up with technology to make most of every bit of detail we CAN get
ye i agree with both reno and kontradictions. just get an mp3 player for music. besides i wouldn't downgrade my music usually cos it just takes time and why would i want to downgrade the quality unless i'm converting to another format. there's not rele much point. also 512 should be enough for songs cos ur not gonna listen to all the songs in one go. just change to different songs each time and u will be fine.
lol my first mp3 was a 256mb with sd extension.... cost $60 usd... 2nd was a sansa e260 4gb cost $200 USD... got when it first came out... 3rd was a 4gb chinese no brand mp3... like 3 months later.. got a zune 4gb instead.. lolz >.< ds is not worth for mp3.. battery will die fast.. it might even die faster than my chinese no brand -whistle
lol , my Ipod Video, which i think was hte 4th gen ipod, is like scammed, it only has like 5 hours of battery life, which is why i dont use it. lol
wheres the picture of the zune 80 huh??? -whistle i thought you were gonna post it up on my thread >.< help my mp3 thread >.< it's dying!!! noooo!!! not really.. max is like 8 hour for mp3 play back? for playing games.. max hours i get is probably 5... before the battery goes to red lolz >.< Edit: awww... sooo sad.. that's whats bad about ipod.. all ipod have short battery life.. they die way fast... for like 1-2 year use.. the battery is fine.. but after that.. the battery will start losing the battery hours >.< so that's why i never get an ipod i got the zune 4gb instead of the ipod nano 4gb 3rd gen that is.. the fat ugly one.. zune looks a lot better than ipod in my opinion >.< blah why am im talking about mp3 when i already have a mp3 thread that no one helps me bump up >.< ps... help my thread http://www.dramasian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27673&page=5 hehehe >.< need to keep running on that thread before it goes dead :(
lol ru serious, -wonders why i got a ipod- well i;ll prob get a 4gb for like $80 , they seem nice enough just not big screen =P
