The "I'm not a plastic bag" bag has been a hit since March 2007,and it is a creative ecofriendly bag, sold for around £5 from retails, and is sold at Anya Hindmarch stores!

The hype behind this simple yet creative eco-friendly creation from Anya Hindmarch is incredible and be warned demand is high! The “I’m not a plastic bag” goes on sale today and if you’re looking to get your paws on this re-useable shopping bag which retails at £5 each then get down to your nearest Anya Hindmarch store quick time, or visit wearewhatwedo.

Now personally I love this bag and I adore Hindmarch even more for designing it, but I do wonder if like every other “must have” everyone is dying to get one because of hype rather than the genius of the design. Its been promoted endlessly with reports of Lily Cole, Erin O’Conner and Keira Knightley seen bag in hand and the sceptical side of me wonders if they forked out their fiver, or if they received the bag as a gift. Either way as a result of the celebrity endorsement the bags were going for £200 on ebay. Madness! While it is a cute alternative to the plastic bag, there are and have been loads of stylish eco-friendly bags on the market for a while now so what makes this one better than the rest?

Lol....99% its fake so becareful for whoever that plans to buy it online might be a fake one....In NZ, we have eco friendly bags as well and they are just quite nice plain looking bags. I don't think it has to be nice, its just a grocery back (if thats the kind of shopping bag) I bought them cause I got sick of the amount of plastic bags I get from grocery shopping, flooding my room. I think people are buying the bag just for 'coolness' sake and not reali eco friendly 'in my humble opinion'.

it's just a grocery bag. seriously, just a grocery bag. 5 pounds (works out to be about 10 dollars canadian for me) is not worth it. just a fad. waste of money. it's also quite ugly.

I agree, although, if i just saw this bag as ecofriendly bag in the shops, I'll buy it! -lol I like the message in it, but now the fact is, it's so wildly promoted and the price goes up up up =o=. Around $30 australian dollars just for a "ecofriendly" bag. <_<

Honestly, if it cost so much and look so good I don't think people would use it as ecofriendly bags. They most probably would hide it in their shelf and use plastic bags again....Grocery bags are not treated like handbags (rougher usage) and those bags look more like handbag than grocery bag so technically a bit misleading....

    bbes Incredible

ye i think its quite expensive for a bag, surely if ur trying to make ppl become eco-friendly it should be cheaper. but i guess since its been made into a fashion item £5 is a small cost. maybe i should start buying them and selling them on ebay if they still sell them. it only takes me about 30 mins to get to london by train anyway.

I would use a plain looking one rather than spend 5 on one....they are cheaper and look not too bad as well -^_^

I like this concept, people dont need to waste so much plastic when they can bag their own groceries

its really just the phrase that makes it sell. you can re-usable bags everywhere nowadays. Most grocery stores also have bins where you can drop off your plastic bags so they can be recycled. It's better to use the re-usable bags because its time, energy and money spent recycling those plastic bags.

i guess many people buy it cos its by a famous desinger. and its supposedly to only have limited stocks, but look at all the imitations after it.

The writing on this bag is suppose to be Navy, right? for some reason I've been seeing versions of it in green and red.... >___>... fake?

(Speaking of fake, I've heard that most of these bags found in china are most likely fake since this bag is so simple, it's easy to copy which makes it hard to tell which is fake.. lol)
