I wanted to get an opinion on what others thought abouth Tiffany & Co. jewellery.

Do you guys believe that it is way too overpriced and overrated for jewellery?

It's true it is overpriced but alot of people buy it to make them feel 'rich' in my opinion I don't think it's that great. The jewelery is very plain and I don't like it at all.

  4. i really like some of their designs... it's nice n simple... but like LV n all other designer brands... it's WAY over priced...

well as with any so called "brand name"
u don't really buy it for being cheap
ur kinda buying its reputation, quality, etc etc

for sure if u just look at what it is, its never worth that much
but at least u know, that if u get any defect or wateva with it, u can always go back and they'll happily replace =)

plus, at least when u buy it for sum1, that sum1 who receives it would feel special =)

i love tiffany & co products. yes it does cost more but i think you get what you pay for. you're not paying CDN $300 for a braclet that is gonna break on you in a few days. their products lasts.

haha tiffany&co are waaayy expensive...but yeh i agree, some of the designs are really nice :)...
i also like the name because i am called tiffany as well hahaha...
LV..dont they limit the amount you can buy? because this woman came up to me once and asked me to buy some bag for her in LV...(i.e she was to give me the money as well).. because she had already bought too much LV. ....

Better be careful. i heard that a lot of scammers operate this way by passing you counterfeit money and when you actually go in the store and buy it, you get arrested. LV does not set a limit, as long as you have the money, they will sell it to you.

I agree with babs. Yes Tiffany & Co. is expensive but you know you are getting quality jewelry. I personally love my diamond earrings. It's like with most expensive brands, you get what you pay for (most of the time). These luxury brands put their reputations on the line when they sell stuff so quality and guarantees (warranties, etc) are important to them.

Tiffany & Co. is the place to get your jewelry if you want to impress, either for gift-giving or even for yourself. It may be hefty, but it's how prestige pricing works, the higher the price the higher the perceived quality. Along with the quality, it's also the brand name you're paying for. You want others to recognize it.

Tell me (those of you who are saying its too overpriced), what are some brands that offer CHEAPER prices with the same high quality as Tiffany (if this is what you guys were suggesting)? You will never see any brands that offer LV/Gucci quality stuff at the "right price." It's always going to be expensive to match its superb quality. No company is going to make a high quality product and sell it significantly under the market price, it just doesn't work that way.

As for myself, I have bought jewelry from Tiffany & Co. several times in the past as gifts. Every time I bought it, I never felt cheated or that it was overpriced. It's almost always well-received too.

As a matter of fact, Tiffany dont always manufactures their own designs. They buy it from some other companies and stamps their logos on those products. ;)

As for your comparison about LV, did you know that in china, they produce similar qualities but at a fraction of the price only? They even manufactured to the point that a LV salesperson cant recognize the difference.

yueah a lot of hte stuff is like that (if u can find them)
most the times they're made at the same factory just after hours...
or ones that haven't officially gone thru QC

in a sense, those aren't really replicas or fakes, more like the so called 2nd quality
but still, it holds the brand name

tho if i could afford them, i'd get them all the time =P
    lol
but y would i ever spend like a few thousand just on a lil handbag for someone (not at tihs stage neway)

tho with lv/gucci, theres too many fakes around so every1 just thinks u got fakes
at least with the tiffany stuff, theres less fakes going around

Why's it matter whether or not Tiffany manufactures their own products? As long as it's high-quality, it shouldn't matter if Tiffany is an intermediary. A company manufacturing and selling its own products does not necessarily equate to high quality. Again, they're selling their reputation and name here.

And what is that brand called IN CHINA? If it's counterfeit LV you're talking about, it's not relevant. I'm asking for any other LEGITIMATE brands that offer high quality at a CHEAP PRICE, if there are any.
