Top Five Favourites For Chik Chak Awards Revealed

CRHK held an event today to announce the top five nominations for the Favourite Singer Awards at the forthcoming Chik Chak Pop Music Awards 2007 <叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮> and many of the singers attended to try and rally for some more votes.

The current top five females were named as Joey Yung (容祖兒), Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), Denise Ho (何韻詩), Kay Tse (謝安琪) and Ivana Wong (王菀之). The top male singers so far were Leo Ku (古巨基), Hacken Lee (李克勤), Jay Chou (周杰倫), Hins Cheung (張敬軒) and Eason Chan (陳奕迅). The top five groups at the moment are at17, I Love You Boyz, Twins, Zarahn and Fama.

A poll was taken among the singers present at the event to choose the best self-promotional clip and the award was won by Kay.

Despite Denise and Joey appearing together at the event, they seemed quite frosty with each other at the event and during a group photograph of the ladies, they did not show any cameraderie towards each other and seemed to divert attentions towards Kay and Ivana instead.

Eason indicated that he would like to see Jay at the awards ceremony because it has been a while since he took part in these events. Eason agreed that that Jay was at a disadvantage because he was not in Hong Kong, because this would affect the number of people voting for him. Eason revealed that his vote would go to Hins to give him some encouragement.

After the incident at last year's awards where Joey was accused of copying her outfit, she said that she will be more careful this year in choosing her designs and she is also looking for a clothing sponsor to provide her with some more outrageous designs. She added that after this event, she will be hiding away to prepare for her forthcoming concert and she also hopes to slim her legs.

Denise has been extremely busy lately and this has led to an outbreak of spots. She revealed that she has been rehearsing and training for a bicycle skipping event for this year's Tung Wah charity show and it has been a painful experience because her legs were very sore after just one day's training. Asked how much she would like to raise, she said that she did not know and she just hoped that it would be a success. She added that her vote for the top female goes to Kay because she is very fond of her and her family, especially her giant baby. Denise was full of admiration for Kay, who is already in the top five in such a short time after returning from her maternity break.

There have been reports that Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐)'s kissing scenes in a film with Juno Mak (麥浚龍) caused a rage of jealousy from rumoured boyfriend Alex Fong (方力申), who complained that he was not able to kiss her when they filmed together. Gillian explained that she has never really kissed anyone in a film and laughed that she would most like to kiss Daniel Wu (吳彥祖). As for Alex's wish to kiss her in a film in the future, she said that to be fair to herself, she would have to give her first real screen kiss to someone else who is doing it for the first time, so even it he is a newcomer, it doesn't matter.
