Tuesday October 23, 2007 Hong Kong "Men Don't Cry" Ratings Decrease Complaints Increase TVB series "Men Don't Cry" and "The Ultimate Crime Fighter" both dropped in ratings in its second week, however, the number of complaints received for those two series keep increasing. Last week, both series received average ratings of 27 points. The number of complaints received for "Men Don't Cry" has increased to 80, HK people are complaining the series has bad meaning, rude language and is not suitable to be shown at its timeslot. "The Ultimate Crime Fighter" received 18 complaints, for being violent and terrifying the viewers. credits: mingpao.
i don't tink the ultimate crime fighter is violent at all its just detective investigation things mixed with some humuor, lovey dovey things.. As for "men don't cry" i tink it hiliariou don't knoe why people are complaining if they don't like it why don''t just not watch -_-
Men don't cry is pathetic and disgusting. It is really distasteful. They tried too hard in that film. UTCF is great. It has a lot of great actresses and actors.
men don't cry should be changed to "men should cry" so it will be suited for the "tv audience" mostly the drama queens haha...
^^ I agree, and I actually enjoyed the series, If they are making such a fuss, how come there are no complaints for movies when they can be way more violent than series. take example for 'flashpoint', just look at how the guy was beaten to death by Donnie Yen, they never said a word, for goodness sake when are they going to stop complaining? If they say it's violent just don't watch it, simple!

TV was always more censored than movies lol, cause tv is for the general viewer of all ages usually and movies usually have a dedicated rating to them. But yea if it's too violent viewers shouldn't watch it lol....

men don't cry gives me the impression of stephen chow's movies and their stupid jokes. You either like it or you don't.
the song is funny even thou i don't understand wat it means..but i laugh when i hear certain words......as expected...just like to catch the uncatchable...doens't make sense

i agree men don't cry's time slot can have adjustments just for the younger audience, but other dan dat, i dun dink its such a big deal in terms of content. hafnt watched ucf yet.
And this is why, my friends, TVB releases cheesy shit all the time, they're required to keep the dialogue and contents to suit every single age group -- which in turn dulls the potential. Even a tiny bit of coarse language and/or violent will get frowned upon, wtf.
