what is the best way to soothe a sunburn??? i went to the beach today.. applied TONS of sunblock... and i am still burnt from my face to shoulders to my back. -cry2 so please help!!
only a few things u can do with a sunburn apply a cold towel to the area to help with any possible swelling and the redness then apply a moisturizer like Aloe Vera cream.. it wont help with the peeling, but it moisturizes the skin underneath and will speed up the healing process.
aloe. LOTS of it. damn jay, ur gonna be in pain for the next few days. aloe and take some tylenol while ur at it.
Like dim8sum said, use some after sun cream/lotion. Are you sure you were using sunblock of a high enough SPF? Try higher than your current one, seeing as it didn't work.
I read Vinegar works wonders as an instant relief for sunburn pain. Just sprayed it on my body where burned only (as it will sting if it touches unburned skin) dont wipe it of, just let it drip dry. Reapply as often as you need, but remember, don' t towel dry, DRIP DRY only, as towels will cause more irritation.
yeah i got sunburn 2 days ago but it was all my fault though(thought it was going to rain so i didn't mind to put on sunscreen for practice) my neck/back area and forearms are sunburned.. just put some aloe vera lotion on, and u can also use ice packs or a cool bath/shower to ease the pain......
lol! i wouldnt try this, i doubt it helps at all.. vinegar is just an acid and as far as i know has no healing properties. It might help ur dead skin peel quicker, but you'd probably end up even redder and have ur skin even more irritated.
vinegar?? ouch!!!! direct application of vinegar would irritate the skin... way too strong!! put some fresh aloe vera on it... i heard it's really soothing for sun burns...
nice time get something hgiher like stf 50 well neways apply something cold onto your skin and out on something to moistorize andd replenish it with like aloe vera
You know what they say....prevention is better than cure. I think everyone has pretty much covered all bases in the treatment side. Essentially there is no such thing as a quick fix for the sunburn. Just continue with your basic treatment of symptoms: - Pain killer and anti-inflammatory - reduce pain, redness and swelling. - Cold compress/cool shower bath - pain relief - Moisturizing cream to help with the healing process. - Blisters are your friend don't pop them! (The serum inside are your bodies natural protective layer - popping them = slower healing and increase chance of infection) - Skin Peeling by itself is your body healing (don't pick at it!). For next time as suggested above: - apply increased SPF "sunblock" +30 at a minimum and don't forget to re-apply every couple of hours. - Wear protective clothing - Hat, sunglasses (not your fashion Paris Hiltons, but ones that actually do the job of stopping UV rays), long sleeve SPF rated shirt. - And finally stay out of the sun or at least don't be exposed to it for extended periods of time. Living in Australia for the last 28 years we have had the Sun safe message drilled into us ever since we are young. ...seriously...tans look cool and all ...but asian people have been blessed with the sexy just right tan, so just don't go the red lobster look it's not good for your skin or you end up looking like the leather lady in "Something about Mary" movie. Well that's my $0.02c worth anyway....
lots of fresh aloe on it helps a lot...if you don't have aloe on put some water on your skin so its moist and not dry and then apply some petorlum jelly like vasoline...it helps to stop the burning and you'll feel better in a few days
