haha. As I realize this may sound opposite from the usual "My calves are huge! How can I slim them?" My question to you is how can I give them a workout seeing as I'm no where near a gym and can't afford a membership anyways. Reason: to make my thighs look not as huge. haha. Thanks!
lol hmm your calves, thats interesting i wish my calves were a bit slim, but neways you cant really do anything cause ppl are different, but, one way i dont think will work is get fat like gain and extra 20 pounds and then lose it haha
hahaha i have no idea... but instead of getting BIGGER calves u should try to slim ur thighs... i mean....i love slim calves! looks so much nicer when u wear shorts/skirts!!
some people just born with slim looking legs. You can look for some exercises for legs on www.bodybuilding.com
i think u can try to puch ur wall or other heavy things around the house and use ur legs to do this. i got muscular calves because i used to work at Target and i was the cart collector. when the machine to puch the carts were broken we would do manual labor. pushing around 20-30 carts at a time.
hold some weights and then start tip toeing, hold the tip toe for a short time and then relax back onto your feet, repeat you can increase the weights and time tip-toeing as you progress this exercise should work out the calves and its based on a machine that does the same thing but the weighs down the shoulders which you have to push up by tip-toeing
^doing things like cardio (ie running) usually makes the muscle more lean rather than big, cause you end up just burning fat. but if you have skinny legs and never run, then running regularly should increase muscle size to a certain point
that exercise that Dim8sum mentioned (calf raises) u can do'm w/o weights, just stand should width apart and go up on ur tip toes (as high as u can) hold 1 sec and come back down (w/o relaxing). U can also hold somthing. Aim to do like... 100 on ur own body weight, u could also toss a bag of rice over a shoulder or two and do'm. Just make sure the bags are sturdy. from experience... rice bags rip... and it's quite a mess when they do -surr
Basically, to get bigger calves you need to build muscles. So get working. Weight training helps and adding weight. If your running, running rugged trails will help.

Common misconception is that working ur muscles = make the more bulky and muscular. not necessarily the case. really depends on what type of exercise u do. if u focus on strength then it'll become bulky. if u focus on endurance however they will still become muscular... but slimmer that's coz u don't need that big a muscle for that much strength... u just need muscle that can keep u going for hours on end (look for pictures of them marathon runners and long distance walkers... not bulky at all)... so just walk lots or power walk lots... though.. make sure u pace urself up.... instead of starting off wif a massive amount of walking and then just injuring urself gdluck with your exercise!!
