I've been getting crappy haircuts my whole life. Mostly due to miscommunication, which results in some pretty damn embarrassing results. I've tried bringing a picture along to show the guy cutting my hair what I want, but that didn't work out either. So my question is, how should I tell the person at the salon to cut my hair to get something like this? http://www.menshairstyles.net/v/asian-man-hair-style/medfuyu-14_001.jpg.html maybe even this lol: http://www.menshairstyles.net/v/asian-man-hair-style/longice_jon_0379_001.jpg.html Also, what kind of styling products do you need to use to get a look like those? Thanks.
um... just wondering...b/c in Canada I don't think that ppl will cut you hair like that...unless it was an Asian Place... maybe... (b/c i live in Canada too...)
Dude, if it doesn't even work out if you bring a picture with you, I reckon you should try another hairdresser that can guarantee you that cut. And I think it's probably the best if you visit the asian hairdressers in Chinatowns? (unless they're all crappy?)
Which part of Canada tho. If you in TO, Montreal or Vancouver, i would be surprised that they cant cut the hairstyle you want. Other parts, i wouldnt know.
frist of all if u're getting bad haircuts then y r u goin to the same place??? and second u can't just bring a pic and have them cut it liek that..u need the hair length required as welll.........i was gonna get a "fob cut" like koreanish one..and my stylist said that i would need gel and wax to style it everytime...which i do not like to use so i just went back with short cut
Well, I've been trying a bunch of different places in Chinatown. My hair is also pretty long, almost at shoulder length.
the first one doesnt look feasible lol.. i doubt that shit would stay up like that for a whole day hahahhaha, unless you had someone to carry a fan around and constantly have it blowing at your head
lol man.. its not hard. u just need lots of layers. and then style with wax/clay, then hairspray if u want more hold. the whole cool look just comes from styling so don't think u can pull hair like that off if u don't know how to style correctly. gatsby wax is good, or uno. there are other ones too, but i like those ones. How to style: dig ur finger into the container and pull out a scoop about 1.5cm in diamater. spread the product evenly in both hands (like rub ur hands together) run it through the whole of your hair except fringe leaving a very approximately shape of what u want (gonna be very messy at this point) sculpt it a little bit into the exact shape that u want then just twist the edges of ur hair with ur fingers (gets u the pointy look on the edges of the first pic hairstyle) then do the same with ur fringe but not as spikey to get a more "volumised" look. then spray if u want but not too much (cos overly sprayed looks too fake / unnatural / gross) EDIT: 1) go to a jap hair salon 2) tell the guy u want to look through the hairstyle mag (most azn hairstyles are similar... just styled different) 3) tell em u want a particular hairstyle. they'll probably just give u layers all over. and in the first pic.. i think the guy has got his hair permed (for waves). don't quote me on that tho also, i suspect u've got pretty short hair, so from ur average western cut to an azn cut... u'll probably need to let it grow for like 6 months lol. maybe more.
err perhaps bring more than 1 picture to the salon? and different views of the same sytle may help too. after you get the hair cut, ask the hair dresser to teach you how to use products etc to get the look you want.
to be honest... hairdressers can never ever get to look exactly like the pic u wanted... i guess u need to tell them the base line then... like DO NOT GO shorter than this length... or something like that.. n be friendly to them
go to a quality asian salon. if you don't know of any, ask your friends and look on the internet for any in reputable salons in your area. it may cost more, but they'll cut your hair right and tell you how to maintain it.
the first one is still acceptable...actually it depends on your hair texture... it it's soft you can style it into whatever shape you want...the haircut is first but you gotta be a stylish expert too...my brother got a haircut and the hair stylist styled it very nice for him...it only lasted for one day though...because my brother was lousy at using gels...i bought him a nice gatsby moving rubber but the style is...hmph...wasted my money lol... the second pic, gotta spend a long time doing it...
whats the use... lol ive cut n colored my own hair since i can remember n even showin ppl a pic of what u want dnt usually help unless u look alot like the person on it, like faceshapewise n type of hair asian hair is thicker anyways so if u have a bob or w.e it tends to be more puffy n ur guna have to style it more than other ppl wud soooooo yer diy
wooopsy haha maybe ur a bloke lolz but still, cuttin ur hair like tht is pretty straightforward its all the stylin tht goes into to make it look difficult =]
Lol....ihh in my opinion honey its time to change a new hairdresser..Why stick to someone that you don like his work and normally profesionals are able to cut according to a picture...When i go to my hairdresser, i just tell him basically the criterias i want then i ask him to do wateva he likes. He even chooses ma hair colour for me...hahaha...i tell him that i trust him lo...it always comes out very satisfying...-^_^
I dunno, the same thing happen to me in Vancouver I asked them if I could have my bangs like it did in the picture and i didn't want to have my the back of my head chopped up in layers that were like 4 inches apart guess what? they did it anyways, she didn't listen to me, just assumed because i brought in a picture from a japanese magazine, i wanted what all those japanese people have so it wasn't she cut it bad, it is that she didn't listen to what i wanted, and just cut sure my cut would have looked great on someone, but not me becuase i DID NOTwant a japanese haircut
