Source: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20070619.LCREATION19/EmailTPStory/Science Sigh... I still cannot believe the word Creation and Science can be put next to each other... Such oxymoron -mellow
Maybe you write a detailed email to globeandmail about this. -lol Gotta love us Quebecers for that result 71% who believe in Evolution when its supposed to be a Catholic province. -whistle
Well, it's not Globe and Mail's fault when it's the proper name of such museums *cough* And kudos for Quebecers... I still wonder why they are such enigmas wrapped in mystery then enclosed by a puff of haze...
Never heard of that... But would you like to share some more details on that? I've know scientists who are not strictly atheist/non-theist. Their argument is that "it may just be possible that a higher being does exist" which in fact I would categorize that as "not sure" instead of "creation"...
LOL. Back on topic (of sorts). I know that there are a lot, and I mean A LOT, of Catholic churches in Quebec. How do the Christian Quebecers fare in such a majorly Catholic city??? Is it easy to find Christian church? Or is there like some underground spots that you need a passphrase to access??? -sweat
U come to Mtl, and ill show u how its done to gain access to Christian churches okie? -innocent But back to the Catholic churches, Quebecers generally HATE them because they were "oppressed" in some sorts of way back in the 50s-60s.
LOL, no, it was from sheer curiousity. The 50s-60s? Is that the Quiet Revolution the article was talking about??? I don't know anything about Canadian history, care to elaborate??? The ONLY thing I think I know about Quebec is Bill 101 (was that even the correct number? That particular bill which requires immigrants whose first language is neither French nor English to learn French exclusively or something...)
French is indeed forced on immmigrants unless parents dish out 8G or more to spare their children, then they dont have to (if i remember correctly). Im not too sure about the Quiet Revolution, will have to read up on that later...
I don't remember where the info was on the net, but I was at this Christian held conference thingie (I'm not Christian, but my friends are and told me they were having a conference to do with history aside from the bible so I went) and it was presented there. I'll need to see if I could find the magazine I got there. If I find it, I'll scan it.
