Lately my friend had came up with a new method of losing weight without getting the calorie intake. It is chewing your food and then spitting it out. This is to get the taste of the food but in order to not gain weight, you spit it out instead of swallowing the food. Is this unhealthy? Would this be considered as a certain type of eating disorder?
well..are they doing this with all their meals....as i would think the obvious of not having a regular food intake for an extended period of time would be unhealthy...
It's technically better than bulimia. She's not hocking food back through her esophagus so she can avoid the stomach acids going back up, which prevents decay through acidic fluids. But holy sh1t, she's going to die if she keeps it up. Whatever floats her boat, though.
She might get the taste but not the nutrients. Maybe she should consult a dietician if she wants to lose weight cuz it doesnt sound healthy at all her method but guess each to its own.
lol! but yea... not healthy at all.. not for her body or even for the wallet haha! just go thru a balanced diet and some excercise.. much better to chew + spit.. losing weight and maintaining it is not a 1 day thing.. it takes time!
i would say thats v. unhealthy...and kinda gross to be honest...imagine going to like a classy place and she frequentlys spits her food out in that napkin ewww
Yea, first thing I thought of was the waste of food... Sad.. hm, but in regards to your friend, she's going overboard, if she's so concern with her weight, as stated before, she should go to a dietitian. Has she tried other means of losing the weight?
Interesting method, not unheard of for sure. However, I never quite understand the mentality with all these methods/diets. They are rarely healthy, and often just have the dieter's weight going roller coaster. Unless she can keep this up for the rest of her life, which wouldn't be very long given her non-existent intake of food. Sad but true.
that's unhealthy!! that'd be the same as chewing different flavoured gum at meal times... u get a taste but doesn't fill u up.. well nothin even goes down into ur stomach...
Speaking of which, i think there's a gum that actually helps ppl to lose weight. Seen that commercial over and over again on TV in China, freaking boring.
The never-fulfilled promises of "weight loss"... Those products are just a massive rip-off @_@b Never quite understand why people still rush to buy them...
^ As a matter of fact, i read some scientific news which seem pretty interesting and rational using a special that they developped for weight lost purpose. i think its being developped by the British. -^_^
