Leo Ku is Angry @ Denise Ho?

Leo Ku's latest song 'Money Money Money Money' (錢錢錢錢) has been accused of being copied from Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and coincidently, Denise Ho has recently suggested on her blog that someone has been copying other people's songs. At a show on Sunday night, Leo Ku had a blank face when denying such claims. Even when Denise tried talking to him, Leo pretended to not hear her, evidently showing some spite.

On Saturday night, Leo disregarded the rumours and performed his song 'Money Money Money Money' and when being interviewed, Denise moved next to Leo to take photos and seeing that like her, Leo was wearing black and white, Denise exclaimed, "We're matching!" But Leo did not seem to hear her and so, did not reply. During the 2 minutes of posing for photos, Leo and Denise did not exchange a single word. When Denise said good bye when walking away, Leo spoke his first word 'bye' to her which has caused him to be suspected of being mad at Denise.

Yesterday, Leo contacted the media to explain, sounding quite agitated, he said, "There has been a misunderstanding! When Paco told me what happened, I must say that I smiled at her when she walked up to me! Also, because I was facing the reporters, I did not see Denise talking at me. I have always been polite towards people, there must have been some mistake!"

Pluh-ease... It's not the first time (nor is it going to be the last time) where songs are "overly" inspired by other songs...

Sometimes I think Hong Kong media got no decent news to report to go on rumour/scandals on end...

Well she's right, he IS ripping off Queen. I hate it when Asians rips off songs (like in those concerts/fundraisers you see on tv). I know everyone takes "inspiration" from other songs but in those shows it is SO BLATANT. I always wonder if they can get sued by the original artists.

shouldnt she be saying this about the one who actually wrote the song?? not the one who sang it?

^ Sometimes one just cannot be angry at the songwriters, because there isn't THAT many in the Hong Kong music scene (the big names, that is)

So just make do by venting the frustration on the singer? -rolleyes

Again, it's no news that Hong Kong music borrow heavily from Western or even Asian musics... The only thing I can blame is the ignorant listeners who do not realize that that oh-so-good song they hear is in fact a rip-off...

i've listened to both leo's and queen's and couldn't find obvious similarity between the songs ....but it's undeniable that leo's moneyx4 song has some queen's style but nevertheless the song is nice and pleasant...

^^ and i found out that taiwan loves to adapt drama plots from japanese manga....

A lot of times, the HK star will be in the same record company as the original singer, so they had the green light to copy the song.
