Well, most lip gloss dries lips (unless it is STATED to be moisturizing -- then I am not so sure, but still take THAT claim with a pinch of salt)

I personally wear Bert's Bee balm THEN colourless gloss :p It last longer than just gloss too -^_^

Never reacted in this thread before as I thought I'd better stay out of this topic as a lip balm addict...

It's quite surprising no one mentioned Labello? Or maybe it's been sold under the name Niveau in some countries?

Can't leave the house or room without a Labello (Classic, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cherry, Milk & Honey) stick; it works really good and it doesn't have this sticky feeling.

@Taxloss: We have Labello in Canada.. but the tube is a bit on the big side (than other lip balm brands) so I rarely use it... @_@b

Huh oh erm, I dunno maybe we've a normal small size version of it over here? It really looks a bit tinier than a normal sized lipstick and it fits in the palm of my hand.

Hmmm, this is the size they come in in Canada. Not to say it's REALLY huge, just bigger than most lip balms (such as Chapstick and Blistex)...

dab some olive oil on and that's about all i have. i'm sure if you googled "chapped lips remedies" you'd get a lot of feedback.

Right now summer is approaching. Mostly try to hydrate yourself with liquids to prevent heat exhaustion. Try using a dab of petrolium on your lips; definetly works. Another way I try to prevent chap lips, is to put chapstick on before going to bed.

^thats what I do, apply at night then in the am too. The lip balm that Im in love with atm is Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm w/Pomegranate oil. Smells great and has a very light flavour, its sooo good for the lips.

You might be too dehydrated. Drink plenty of water. You should buy lip balm with bee wax. Don't lick your lips because saliva will cause your lips to be drier.

    Kiehl's Lip Balm...
    or just normal petroleum jelly

coat (thickly) your lips with either before you go to bed
... and apply it regularly during the day

.. and avoid licking your lips. saliva dries your lips.

not sure if this was mentioned already, but aquaphor and alba unpetroleum are great for dry lips. give it a try if you haven't. it helps a lot if you apply some on your lips before going to bed. you should also exfoliate your lips. after leaving on the aquaphor or unpetroleum on your lips overnight, just use a small damp face towel and gently rub your lips to exfoliate all the dry skin off in the morning. then moisturize your lips with the aquaphor or unpetroleum again and you'll achieve soft lips in no time. aquaphor can be found in drugstores such as walgreens, rite aid (if there is one near you b/c all of them will close down where i'm at), and etc. it can be found at target too. un-petroleum is only found online that i know of so far.

    i hope this helps. =)
