you know how a lot of people say, "oh, i'm so ugly!" when in truth, they're not. this thought occured.. or well, someone told me and it got me thinking it's right. in truth, everybody's pretty average except for the few super handsome/pretty people. what do you think? and, it also made me think: how would things change if what we consider "gorgeous" (characteristics) was not what it was? or is beauty truly in the eyes of the beholder?
I agree, it's hard to find a very ugly person, there's attractive and unattractive people, but I rarely consider anyone ugly. Maybe I'm too nice.
Beauty has always been in the eye of the beholder. Many actresses were said to be pretty (by most people and media) while I found them boring looking, they are good looking alright, but I don't find them attractive which in turn does not mean they are beautiful.
^ Maybe because they dont play zombie parts? JK I agree with Hiake, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
Yea.. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder... but having said that. Self perception is probably different. We are often more unforgiving when it comes to ourselves. So we try to hide flaws that no one might even notice anyway. But at least it gives us more comfort knowing it is 'hidden'. The opposite might also stand true though.. depending on the character.
@Babyrain: "a bear's paw (delicacy) to one is cyanide to another"... if that helps =_=b Since meat is kind of general and to those who read Chinese: "甲之熊掌乙之砒霜"
lol.. did you directly translated that? Anyway.. its rather extreme to describe looks that way.. I doubt a rotting face will ever appeal to anyone.. except.. -lol
@XJ: I did, the English equivalent of that proverb would be "Different strokes for different folks" if you ask me... But meh.
well, thanks for answering my question. i suppose beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... no offense against anyone out there, but i personally i like asian people. when i see a person who's, say filipino, and very handsome, i don't really care. but when i see an asian, i'm instantly aware of that person. you know what i mean?
oh, right. sorry, i meant specifically chinese, korean and japanese? i really knew that.. in fact, i'm the one who always argues with my friend when he says he's pacific islander when in fact he's asian.
lol WTF..........yo man get ur facts staright and don't be calling oriental ppl or asian people....b specific
