There are lots of stereotypes against asians being smart as hell. Well I guess I'm not included because I always get 80s, occasionally a 90 maybe a 100... :( I just did hella bad on my social studies test which involves The Constitution, the Articles of Confederation and I got a 60 :(
Hollar at all the dumb azns cause hell I'm dumb as a knob. And the stereotype about azns being good in everything or at least math, you can forget about it.
If I have to choose, I would say I belong more towards the dumb half of the Asian population. I have no photographic memory... though my marks are quite deceiving @_@b
I think the most important type of smartness is being able to learn from others mistakes and your own. If you get a bad grade that doesn't mean you're dumb, you just didn't prepare enough, or it just wasn't your day. If you get a bad grade and don't do anything about it for the future(prepare for the next one better) then you are dumb.
Omg I have a short term photographic memory. Duchsauce I agree with you but if you don't understand something you can read it a hundred times and still not understand.
The thing is that the marks I get is totally undeserved =_=b And it's not about reading things a million times, I understand most things fine (reading is my hobby ), but just not those ultra-bright type.
If you can't understand it from reading, I think you just need to take a different approach at learning it, maybe a tutor.
There are many types of intelligence, and academic results dun tell the whole picture. Being bad at maths doesn't mean you are dumb. You might have Linguistic and Emotional or other intelligence to cover for the lack of Arithmetic intelligence.
Thanks for that if you are referring to me. And true what you say my linguistic skills do kick ass except for chinese.
Welcome. And its not just you. There are many others who think they are not smart simply cos they dun do well in school. The prevailing educational system defines a particular criteria for being smart. And not everyone fits this criteria. But I believe everyone has a different combination of intelligence.. and we just have to find out what they are.
