Some guy was complaining to Men's Journal about his deflated chest. They recommended that he stretch out his chest muscles before and after doing a chest session. Another tip is after you bench do some push ups, rest, and then bench. Anyone having problems with an uneven chest. Since my left is stronger than my right it seems that my right chest is working harder than my left.
That's an interesting tip. Can't say I've an uneven chest. That seems like it'd be quite difficult to fix. Are they just uneven in strength or in size? If size, that could be very difficult to remedy, but if it's only in strength, you can try to even out the differences by removing some weight (2.5 or 5 pounds) from the left side. Not sure how safe that is, though, as I've never done it myself.
haha yea I tried varying the weights for both hands but one arm got bigger than the other so I had to stop. I might just lower the weights and just go for reps and substitute with more push ups so I can develop even strength on both sides. I feel like the guy in "Lady in the Water".
I have a somewhat uneven chest. I figured out the problem with it. The problem is my form. When I work on my chest, I always focus more on my right arm. I think you are not suppose to go all the way up to the point that you are working your shoulder instead of chest. I always do that with my right arm. I found that out by noticing how I don't go all the way up with my left arm and that's y my left chest is fuller than my right one.
wow nice guide there providence hard to find guides for little asian dudes like us by the way, how should i go about upping the benching weight since i'm an small asian guy like you, i thought you might know. i'm benching about 105 and have kind of got stuck there
it depends on ur height. do low rep bench press at high pounds. narrow grip: triceps wide grip: more power 2-3 inches away from the chest.
when you're listing the routines and such, especially for the first month (for those of us who are planning to start) how do you know what weights you should be using? max or 70% or what?
Compliant, I would just start with push up. This is one of the best exercises to get the feel of your chest muscle. max is the amount of weight that you can only lift one time. so you should know what's 70% of that.
wow thats a really neat guide.. but what if you can't do it that often =/, like 5-6x a week is already pushing it for me because of uni. do you have any advise for a 5"11 - 130lbs very skinny asian male? much thanks! =D
Frequency is only important during one month of the entire six month period. However, the most important is keeping the intensity up. If you can work harder during the times when you do have time, it should be fine. NP. The guide is currently undergoing a lot of upheavals. I've decided to make a Excel worksheet to go along with the guide in order to help you guys fully plan out your workouts. Except big changes in the next few days.
tat right, no body cares, i was squatting the bar, wen i first started! i wen i see bigger ppl, it motivates me to become one of them did u write all that by ur self? where do u get ur sources from? u must read lots of books lol
bumping a 3 year old thread, cuz i think this is a great topic. i thought this was an excellent guide, and i was wondering if anyone else has variations on training regime/diet. Providence probably quit PA a long time ago lol but the guide is incomplete :(
