i say hana yori dango... much more fun and manga-brought-to-life feeling anyone keeping up with hyd2 which is airing right now?
atashi mo!!! Hana Yori Dango, the best! Domyouji is such a loveable jerk. All the actors fit well to the characters (and even though i am a big fan of shota matsuda, soujiro) he is a bit stiff, but none the less great eye candy. Tsukushi is perfect. Not pretty in the sense of "pretty" but she has spunk and character, the actor suits the character real real well. I watched meteor garden, but i felt it was too flashy. The story was lacking. But all in all it is the F4 in Hana Yori Dango(esp Matsumoto Jun) that does it in for me. No doubt by far the most addictive drama this season.
nvr really fully watch it but i agree Hana Yori Dango is better than meteor garden! ppl say taht chinese f4 isn't really tah great
i love hanadan much more than meteor garden.. i really cant see what people like about meteor garden ><
and yes, this season i find soujiro playing a bigger role, and he is cute but definitely, the heart and soul of this drama is still domyouji and makino and just had to say it, matsushima nanako is oh so pretty and cool -worship
i'm currently watching hyd season 2, and i gotta say it rocks! i love hyd itself, although i never watched meteor garden because i'm not that interested in taiwanese dramas. but hyd is a must watch. all the actors portray their role very skillfully and i think this drama has all kinds of themes incorporated in it which is really good!
I quite liked Meteor Garden, although it did get a bit 'samey' towards the end, Meteor Garden 2 was really far fetched, I mean what are the chances of you going to Spain and crashing your car into a car driven by... yes... another Taiwanese person! You are right about the acting though, most of them with the exception of Jerry Yan had never acted before and you could tell. Vanness Wu... good singer, good dancer... terrible actor.
HYD all the way. I don't really like any Taiwanese series unless it's based in ancient time. Most of their dramas are not even up to par with HK or Mainland. I'm sure there are exceptions but Meteor Garden is not one of them. Seriously it was F4's first time, how good can it be!!! On top of that, there are much prettier girls in HYD.
from wut i heard, hyd follows the manga a lot more closely than meteor garden did... speaking of taiwanese dramas, i havent watched many, but the only one i really liked was mars
Well, I have to agree that HYD is by far much better than Meteor Garden. Ok, I watched both Meteor Garden and Meteor Garden 2 and HYD and the current HYD2... I give up in the middle of MG2 though. It's too... long. The director probably wanted to prolong the drama =.= that's one of the thing that i quite don't like about taiwanese drama. It tends to be dragged on to the maximum till the audience was rather bored and then, another crucial part was added... MG2 doesn't really follow the manga... As far as HYD2 now, it does, well with a few changes of course... Yah.
HK drama too. They just try to juice the concept. Instead of ending in 5 tapes it ends in like 10. I miss those days when there were 3 eps per tape. The good ol' days.
I personally like Meteor Garden better. I think the Taiwanese cast looks so much more attractive. It's true that they were exaggerating a bit; still, I think that's cute .
