Hi I was just wondering if any of you have ever practiced Martial Arts or Gymnastics before, and who breakdances here. I took Karate when i was a kid...sad to say I don't think i learned a thing from it. I am currently Tricking right now (aesthetic blend of MA and gymnastics). And also I would be intrested in what type of martial arts you have practiced!
mmm... I learned a bit of Judo as a very little kid. I was surrounded by boys at least 6 to 7 years older than me. Well, I was the only girl there too. So of course, they were all better than me. But to think... I only remember one move, and I doubt I've ever mastered it during class.
man that is pretty cool, Judo is alot of grappling am I correct? If i recall my cousin does Judo...or he did I dont remember. But I do remember him saying that Judo is very hard and he one itme almost threw up during one of his judo classes.
i took like two classes of karate when i was little, but i didn't like it much and quit. i wish i knew TKD now. haha =P
TKD seems fun...but if I could go back in time, I would want to do forms of various MA's but not wushu and learn bostaff or um katana forms, and practice gymnastics! here is a video of some MA forms with and without weapons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrkDwFqnHic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt3Ahvl-Myo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vl-ACc5GgQ This is insanse stuff. Most of these guys are MA tricksters. My favorite guys in these 3 vids are probably Steve Terade Matt Emig and Calman Csoka and the guy with the dyed streak or line on his right side of his head is beastly...I wanna find out who he is cause he is just amazing
i always wanted to learn any kind of marital arts and breakdancing but i dont have time to do any of these cool stuff =(.
sick, I find breakdancing hard lol, so I just stick to tricking. You should hook up with some TO tricksters, you will be in awe at what they can do!
lol i took kung fu class wen i was little got to green belt and quit because i got my ass whoop by a girl. *we were playing fightiing i jumped and kick, then she round house kick me. on my nuts* my lil bro came over and laugh at me. After that i never went back... EMBRASSING -_-2
LOL, you know your most vunerable in the air? It's cause you can hold balance or stay in your position. Sucks tho you quit. I say if you fall just get back up again. Go big or Go home.
i took karate when i was like 10...im a blue belt now... my teacher wont let me go n take the black belt test for sum reason...i also took grappling it was required for me to take it....i wanna learn how to breakdance
To attain black belt you must be 18 or over and you must also take a physical test such as fighting and such and a verbal test lol or a writting one... I don't remember...my friend took the black belt test and passed lol.
bah, just watched the first clip and all i have to say is that..boy..they need some choreographing, some of the contestants timing is out =p martial arts, is an art...it's not all about agression and putting on a battle face. It's funny how they keep shouting, just makes you wanna pop a strong mint in their mouth!
I think they get marked for presentation. And when they introduce themselves they have to talk really loud or yell. What martial arts have you taken?
well, i took TKD as a child, and i am now a black belt for a long while. for those who want to know specifically which TKD, its ITF and not WTF. two different TKD, of which ITF is the original TKD (no offense meant). theres a looonnnng story behind these two TKD, and i dont feel like explaining it =P i want to take kung fu (shaolin, win chun, and white crane), kenjutsu, kyojutsu, brazilian jujitsu, KRAV MAGA, kaysing, jeet kun do, and the indian martial art i forgot the name.... OH and vo vi nam (vietnamese martial arts =P)
I did karate (Kyokushin, very demanding but makes you tough) for bout 2 yrs in high school. After high school (quite a few yrs ago), i did a few others for short periods: TKD, wing chun, tibetian white crane, kickboxing (non muay thai) and northern praying mantis. After a long break, i have, in the past 2 years, trained in Choy Lee Fut kung fu (Chan Family branch if anyone is asking). Out of all the different styles i have done, CLF is the most interesting, challenging and complete. BTW I train for physical & mental exercise and i enjoy the art, not to hurt, harm or show off to others. Gymnastics? Did a few jumping somersults in high school when i was 50 pounds lighter, thats about it. Never break danced, got no rhythm. I m from Sydney Au, never heard of this "tricking" thing, anyone care to elaborate? Hisoka: R u wanting/planning to take up a martial art? Any particular one in mind?
hmmm tricking is pretty cool you or anyone else instrested should visit here. http://www.trickstutorials.com As for me, I don't know if I want to take u[ any MA's right now, I'm pretty busy trying to juggle training work gymnastics tricking and exercise/working out and school =(.
