Now that he has been appointed the new Deputy General Manager of TVB, rumours are rife that Eric Tsang will be reviving his old variety show, "Super Trio".

As reported on Skypost, sources claimed that the actor-producer has already begun planning the blueprint for the future development of TVB variety shows, and is fully committed to producing variety shows that will suit the taste of Hong Kong audiences and mainland viewers alike.

This would include re-launching his aforementioned show, which previously ran for ten seasons before its last show, "Super Trio Maximus" ended in 2015.

The original show, which first broadcast in 1995, was hosted by Eric himself, with Jerry Lamb and Chin Ka Lok as his assistants. The show featured various celebrity guests every week, who would have to participate in the many games prepared for them.

Among the top celebrities who have participated in the show include Nick Cheung, Ekin Cheng, Louis Koo, Andy Hui, Francis Ng, and Carina Lau.

When asked about the possibility of "Super Trio" coming back, newer TVB artistes like Crystal Fung and Kaman Kong expressed their support for it to happen.

Said Crystal, "I've attended one of their shows as an audience and took a lot of prizes home. I really would love to become a host on the show, give out prizes and bring happiness to everybody."

It's nice to see that Super Trio back, I'm sure many of us grew up watching the show.

That being said... it gets boring after like 5 episodes lol. Same studio, same games, different guest.

And I think this is one of the shows where the guest have to make it entertaining. I don't think the hosts do the carrying in this show.

lol Crystal Fung as a host:out2::crash:

True, but I think the show/games would make more sense then the ones Liza was doing on her show. (Liza Magic:lol:)

I haven't watched her show. But they played games like mafia or taboo? I could see those games working tbh.

I think it's also a mistranslation on Crystal's part. I think it's supposed to say guest. Zero chance she hosts super trio

Hmmm..... Most of the hosts are very old. I wonder if they have the energy to carry it on.. We'll see.

It was funnier when Ka Lok and Jordan Chan were co hosts IMO, got boring when it had King Kong as the host...

We must be all old farts now. It was only like yesterday when Anita Mui (梅艷芳) and Roman Tam (羅文) appeared on the show as guests.:whistling::whistle:

Eric Tsang (獎門人), Jordan Chan & Jerry Lamb (獎老) were the original Super Trio. Chin Ka Lok only became co hosts (獎老) when Jordan Chan left the show to concentrate on his music & acting career.

Most of them are no longer at TVB

Perhaps thinking of a wrong show - but, never liked this show. It's like giving Eric Tsang a license to abuse the younger actors / actresses. Some of the "games" were just wrong to me.
