The Caucasian actor in episode 1 who snuck in as press looks familiar. He reminds me of an antagonist from either a Jackie Chan or Jet Li movie. Anyone recognize him?
He's one of the regular TVB 'white guy' actors, though he's gotten older and fatter... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Burrell Addendum: Sorry, wrong guy. Burrell is in there but he's another character (the one that shot the cop in ep 02...)
I'm actually enjoying this drama so far, although I thought they spent a bit too much time on the brother reunion. I felt it could've been 2-3 episodes shorter and gets back to the main point, but overall it's very good.
It's not bad, like you said, wish it got back to the main point some times. Though the beginning was a bit stupid at times or maybe it was Philip Ng's acting, whichever; he just seemed like a mental cop, like bring it down a few notches
just finished the series today and wanted to share my review. Overall I think th is series is a 6/10 for me and I'll explain why. Is it still worth watching? Yes I would still say it's rather entertaining and a fun series to watch Warning, this might be long and spoilers might be included Spoiler: Review The series started out very well that catches your attention begging for more episodes, but as the series dragged on there are some aspects of the series I just didn't enjoy as much. One thing that bothered me was the amount of episodes wasted on the brothers reuniting focusing and going on a huge tangent from the original story line. Too much was focused on Iron learning boxing again and rekindling his relationship with his master and new found brother. That whole part could've been 1 or 2 episodes short. This was probably a reason to extend it to 30 episodes I would seem. I liked the epilogue and most of the ending but felt the last 5 episodes was a bit rushed with storylines that just didn't make sense or just borderline thinking most people who watches the show has no idea how computers, internet and VR works (which is probably true to an extent), being a PC enthusiast and working as a cloud engineer for years, it bothered me to hell how the ending of the technology sections was handled. The whole thing about causing deaths and hypnosis with VR went from being a series about revenge, economics and technology to myth and scifi and that didn't sit well with me. I built a VR set myself and you have no idea how much power that thing needs to make things realistic. It isn't just using a VR headset with your cell phone or something of similar. For you to create an environment that is that realistic (and yes to a certain extent, VR that realistic can or may cause epilepsy), you will need a very powerful video card that draws a lot of power. Fever simply "cannot" just run away with it while being driven away! there will be so much lag and screen tearing, especially if you are connected through the internet with someone. That is NOT how the internet works! With that said, for someone like Fever coming out alive from the VR world, he sure woke up extremely fast and maintains his intelligence for someone who had his brain destroyed, it doesn't make sense in a technological sense AND medical sense. I have to give this a giant WTF. His brain should be goo and let's not even talk about real medical sense, according to the series itself, he should be waking up retarded! What they DID get right are server power drawings. With something so big trying to cause the stock market to crash, you do need a very powerful datacenter that has huge computing power and also lots of electricity. Drawing it from a church or a boat is simply not possible. Towards the end, it just didn't make sense to me why Leo would bring Zero along on his missions. She is a rookie professional fighter with not many competition experience, taking on trained assassins, she would be KILLED, but she was just simply kicking ass (it's a nice touch but not necessary, but i guess this is considered "DO IT FOR THE FANS") I like Kaman Kong as an actress but disliked her character. While she has good observation, it just didn't sit well with me that she was made a CPO, although it was short, it just wasn't necessary, I think this is probably due to her increased popularity in Hong Kong (I could be wrong), and increase in exposure in entertainment but I do not think she is ready for a big role, rather I like Tiffany's first role in this. Overall I enjoyed this series, but felt they started out very strong with believable a story line to the last 5-10 episodes where I didn't feel the story line compared to the introduction. The ending 10 episodes was handled and written poorly in my opinion that went from movie like almost flawless series to full of mistakes and action packed rather than more of a calculated series episode by episode which I enjoyed and drew me to the series. Hope that wasn't a long read!
the drama was pretty good until the last 2-3 episodes... the VR shit killed it, tvb needs to get more realistic when it comes to "tech"
What in the world ... Fist Fight becomes Matrix? Action genre series becomes Horror genre series with Spoiler: Spoiler Iron coming back to life?
