Dislike Raymond from before and now. He is irking. But like Grace very much. This drama is intriguing to me. Grace fits this role very well.
I've always supported things with meaning. hahah. I like the underlying message in this drama. For people that actually know and realize what's going on in society, this movie has a lot of it, especially with equality.
Finished this a while back. Typical TVB cliche ending. Although, The evil general who plays the dad in CHL did a really good job playing the evil role. This one falls way short as it progressed. Gets a C+ from me.
I liked the beginning it was creepy should of stuck with ghost story Hah but then got too serious and boring for me hot female cast though!!
Only 6 replies guess not many watched this. To be honest, it was a good drama. I can see why this rating is the highest so far, especially if the housewives are chasing this drama. Story about female inequalities which got the message across IMO. Thought it'll be a horror series from the start but it was nothing like it. Raymond Wong - Nothing spectacular. Wasn't bad though. Grace - Surprisingly suits her role quite well. Louisa - Nice to see her back but I thought she'd be given a bigger role Rebecca - She starting to grow on me but idk if it's true.. seems like she's always playing these roles (chic characters). Would love to see her act something different. Katy & Zoie - Nice turnaround from My Ages Apart roles. For Katy, two consecutive roles that doesn't back up her title of Best Supporting Role. Perhaps it could be filmed before that award is given though. Cilla - I can see why she left TVB.. she basically KLF in this Bandits - Kind of expected this part to be in, but it entered and left the story in like 2 episodes which was kinda quick. Jeannie & Jessica - Would love to see more of them lol Willie Wai - He started to grow on me too. Too bad I skipped his drama where he won his award a few years ago. Tsui Wing did a good job on his role Ending was.. TVB.
Just an observation but, what I don't understand is, at the end of ep 09, where 2nd mother suggests to Hero that her dad 'sacrifices' himself to the eunuch; Hero looks around behind him, intimating that his dad was buggered; my question is, since eunuchs are emasculated, how could he have possibly violated his dad then? Overall, it was a good premise. Gender inequality historically was and remains a social malady that literally pervades all cultures, ethnic groups and nationalities. Some of the old Chinese rural mores and beliefs highlighted here seems akin to what we hear of the Taliban today. Kudos to TVB for tackling such a repulsive aspect of history in a way that has a bit of fun while retaining a serious view of it. I found this one thoroughly enjoyable.
