Alex Fong (方中信) has maintained a cordial relationship with TVB over the years and frequently returns to star in some of its dramas from time to time. Recently, Alex has been invited by his good friend, Marco Law (羅永賢), one of TVB’s top producers, to star in a newly conceptualized legal drama, tentatively titled, Legal High <律政強人>. Alex will be acting as a lawyer in the drama opposite another TVB veteran, Liu Kai Chi (廖啟智). Filming for Legal High is slated to commence at the end of this year. Taking on the role has allegedly cost Alex about $4.7 million USD, as he has had to reject several other film and drama opportunities in Mainland China in order to free up his schedule. This speaks volumes about Alex’s loyalty to TVB as well as his friendship with Marco. There is however no need for Alex to worry about finances, as he was recently engaged as the spokesperson for a luxury watch for a seven-figure sum. At the campaign shoot, the photography studio was filled with laughter as Alex not only brought along his beloved pet dog as a “guest star” but was also paired with a gorgeous Russian model who was a whole foot taller than him. As the sight was quite ludicrous, the crew had no choice but to provide a wooden chest for Alex to stand on, so as to even out their discrepancy in height. On this subject, Alex laughed and mocked himself with the Chinese idiom, “For every mountain you see, there will always be one higher.” Creds: Oncc
wow someones thats loyal to tvb lol he actually much better in movies vs series tvb does not know how to use him he's actually a very good actor a great way to care he has no memorable series roles
2 of them but yeah I always get their english names mixed up too. He is a great actor for sure, staying with the HK love and not mainland
true that.. alex fong is a great actor and happens to be very charismatic as well. besides burning heart (the show with the firemen), i can't remember another good role with alex. tvb scripts suck so badly seriously, they have so much money, but instead they put it in people who can't act, put it in crappy cgi... they have so many resources compared to other channels in hk... look at hktv, they have limited resources, yet they have fresh ideas, albeit not always executed as well. it's a freaking shame they stopped shooting shows now because the government does not give them a broadcasting license and i really wonder how much tvb has to do with this as well.
I watch TVB expecting the same TV angles, the same back ground music, the same story, the same everything. There is something about TVB that makes it TVB. Like I said, if people are about HK stocking milk tea, egg tart, tempo napkin with newspaper, MTR lady's voice in english, cantonese, mandarin, then you are TVB. If you do not know, then you aren't HK and you aren't TVB. HKers do know though, they know that TVB's magazine are filled w/ predictable plots, yet people still watch it. haha I agree w/ the up and coming 'stations', but I honestly have no clue what's what seeing that its's so draconian with their broadcasting rights. LOL But if you were to compare TVB with what's out there and hold it against various bench marks, then yeah, there 'may' be a better alternative. Only true loyalists will 'know', but that's like turning a blind eye.
方中信's acting was always mediocre and average. LOL @ the praises about him. Go look up his old dramas, he can't cry on camera. Various scenes of him crying in the past and he struggles to shed a tear. Go look it up. HAHHAHAHAHAHAA
