Shortly after getting married in February, Ella Koon (官恩娜) excitedly announced her pregnancy. Meticulously charting the growth of her belly for months with social media uploads, Ella finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy on October 4. Baby Gabriel Antonio Maurellet weighed 6.7 pounds and was born via Caesarean section at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital. Although Ella laughed and said she did not know if the baby looked more like her or husband Juan Domingo Maurellet, she said the baby’s hands and feet resembled hers. Initially very nervous about her first pregnancy, Ella expressed her gratitude towards her husband, who stayed by her side in the operation room and cut the umbilical cord. Immediately after delivering Gabriel Antonio, Ella held the baby in her arms and started breastfeeding. The skin-to-skin contact resulted in the baby latching on successfully. Ella shared her happy feelings on breastfeeding, “I don’t know how to describe it, but the baby is very cooperative.” While reports surfaced that Ella may retire from the entertainment industry to enjoy motherhood to its fullest, a representative from her music company replied, “We haven’t heard of Ella’s intentions to not sing anymore. That is one long-ass name. Feel bad for the kid already But at least she got a beautiful mom. It's probably his english + baptismal + last name. Who knows.
