The TVB Anniversary Awards is drawing closer. Every year, artistes battle for Hong Kong’s most hotly discussed television awards. With many series pulling in mediocre ratings, Roger Kwok (郭晉安) and Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) are the top favorites for this year’s TV King title. Roger’s evil role and stellar acting in Black Heart White Soul <忠奸人> managed to stand above the rest. In an earlier interview, Roger humbly said that the competition for the rest of the year is very strong and he is already satisfied that the ratings passed 30 points. With Come On, Cousin <老表，你好Hea!> designated as an Anniversary drama, Roger’s chances of winning the Best Actor award are increased. Roger said, “After winning twice, I already know the award would be harder to win again. I’ll just keep a normal mentality. I’m already happy that Come On, Cousin is scheduled to air as an Anniversary series. This time, the series has a lot of different storylines and everyone in the drama has their own respective stories. We all tried our best. As to which series’ actor will win the award…I don’t know, I’ve never thought about it. There are still months left, and there are a lot of dramas [competing], let’s watch them all first!” Besides being the other male lead in Come On, Cousin, Wong Cho Lam is also the scriptwriter behind the entire series. Since a lot of complaints were received for the finale of prequel, Inbound Troubles <老表，你好嘢>, Cho Lam has been concentrating on creating the perfect script for Come On, Cousin. Receiving a lot of support from TVB’s upper management team, the drama was allegedly slotted as an Anniversary series in order to promote Cho Lam to a first line actor, giving him an optimal run for Best Actor. Roger is a great actor, but I felt that his performance in Black Heart White Soul could have been better compared to all the dramas he's filmed in the past. Can't believe Cho Lam is even considered a hot favourite... he can film comedies, but that's it. I haven't seen any breakthroughs from him aside from comedy.
It's his face that makes you not take him seriously! At least Benz you can take seriously even though he's usually in comedic goofy roles as well.
Roger Kwok... I like Black Heart White Soul... his acting is very very good in most of his dramas... Cho Lam.. please... his acting is subpar compared to Roger's..
Too true, that's when you know it's rigged if Wong wins it will confirm that's really rigged Dayo though he's not as goofy looking as Wong, you can take him serious.
