The Miss Hong Kong 2014 contestants are preparing for the upcoming finals competition, which will be held on August 31. The candidates had a chance to try on many sparkling diamonds sponsored by Lukfook Jewelry. With only days left before the finals, rumors continued to surround the hot favorites. Law school student #7 Katherine Ho (何艷娟), was said to be a heavy partier during her university years, and often wore low cut mini dresses when she attended classes. Additionally, it was rumored that Katherine dressed sexily at a sophisticated banquet, causing many of her fellow classmates to be ashamed of her dressing etiquette. Katherine responded that she usually dresses casually for school and would only dress formally for special events. Suffering from a slight wardrobe malfunction at the jewelry event where her bra buckle showed through the front of her black dress, Katherine tried using her arms to block her front chest area. Despite being embarrassed, Katherine expressed that she is very confident in making into the top 3 at finals night. Contestant #12 Janet Choi (蔡曉瑩) allegedly became a third wheel in a married couple’s relationship in order to boost her career and fulfill her dreams of becoming a star. Refuting the claims, Janet said her modeling activity for a calendar was organized by her airline company and not to help her become a star. Janet said she is slow to warm up to others and is not pretentious. She does not smoke and is allergic to alcohol. Having won the Miss Friendship title, #15 Veronica Shiu (邵珮詩) wore a friendly smile during the jewelry function. Making an indirect jab at #1 Jan Tse (謝芷倫) for having lied about her relationship status, Veronica expressed that she currently does not have a boyfriend and she did not lied about her dating status.
