Here's another thought ... since you'll be paying (in this case to PA / Pserve), does that mean you are legally watching the series / movie? Does that also means you are not violating infringement of copyrighted materials? You did paid for the series / access to the series. Food for thought ...
The main reason is because bandwidth and speed is a limited resource. Imagine if everyone shared their accounts, it would double, triple, quadruple, etc the amount bandwidth used and directly affect the download speeds. Eventually the server won't be able to handle all the traffic and shut down.
all this time i've never clicked pserve because i've never recognized it...i didn't even know this was available. late on this blee, but fantastic job.
hi b-lee, my questions is... if i do donate and download these tvb series, what are the chances of some episodes being corrupted? not from the actual download...but the source file already corrupted in the first place...cuz i have alot of old series that are missing an episode here...an episode there... also, what are the quality like for these tvb series? don't want to download an entire series and then find out it's barely watchable... ie. mystery files (1997;tvb)....episode 13 and 14 has always been mandarin language while the rest is cantonese....has this been replaced or is the files on the pserve still the original mandarin files??
Hi ccsquinty, Mistakes and errors happen once in a while, everything is manually uploaded so human error will always be a factor but it is not common. If there is something wrong with the files you can just pm me and we'll fix it. Quality varies greatly and I can't promise you the best quality, it depends on the rarity of the series. We are always on the look out for old drama re-airs in HK that are better quality for replacement as well.
Hi, can you pm with me more info regarding donating to download from the server? I would also like to request for a test file to try out the my download speeds. I've read most of the posts in this thread and read something about 1.5 mbps and 10 threads, what does that mean? Do you know of any good download managers for macs?
With our servers you can download a maximum speed of 1.5MB(megabyte) per second with one connection. We allow a total of 10 connections per user/ip. This basically means members can download at a maximum speed of 15 megabytes per second if their connection/location allows it. Regarding download managers for MAC, I hear good things from Speed Download, you could try that out.
What error are you getting? Are you logged in? Are you downloading more than 10 files at once? Are you using a download manager? If you are, remember to set to 4 simultaneous connections. If none of that solves your problems send me a pm and I'll check it out personally.

I don't have any issue with the newly imposed daily limit of 28GB/day. However I would suggest that for those who require a higher daily limit to be able to do so by paying a premium for the higher limit. This will ensure the overall service is appropriately funded but at the same time able to address specific needs.
Thanks for the feedback Brumby! We don't really want more money, if it's neccesary we could raise the limit slightly, like on the holidays. Also, exceptions can be made for members if it's a valid reason. For example, if you are going on a vacation and need to download more so you have stuff to watch while on the road, you could send me a PM to get your cap lifted or raised higher. The real purpose of download limit is to prevent some donors from abusing the server to the extreme. Although, I believe 28GB/day should be more than enough. Here's how much you could download within a day with 28GB. 28GB is 28672 MB so: If 1 episode is 250MB -> 28672/250 = 114 episodes = 30min * 114 = 3420mins (57hrs) If 1 episode is 450MB -> 28672/450 = 63 episodes = 30min * 63 = 1890mins (31.5hrs) If 1 movie is 1536MB (1.5GB) -> 28672/1536 = 18 movies = 90mins * 18 = 1620mins (27hrs)
I just saw the notice about the limit. Sounds fine to me. I didn't realize there was so much available to download that someone can download 28GB a day. I need to spend more time on these forums.
