Im pretty sure they dont allow public tours. Best bet is to try get tickets to the variety show audience, while you walk around in the TVB canteen you'll see gazillion TVB actors/actresses
OFFTOPIC: I went to a Super Trio show before. Didn't get to go to the canteen though. We got off the bus and into the studio. Did the human tetris thing first, and then the intro and games in the studio. After, we got the prizes (mooncake coupons and bags) and got onto the bus and left. Dont think we can even freely roam around TVB City, so no canteen unless you're actually a worker/actor there I would say.
How to apply for tickets to TVB variety shows? You can fill in the application forms published in "TVB Weekly" and post the completed form with return envelope (it is not necessary to adhere stamps on return envelope). i think this is for HK residence only how did you get tix? thought you had to know someone at TVB employee to get some I would love to go visit TVB City!
If OP has friends or family in HK that can scout out when TVB is filming variety shows during that period Anyone can get tix, but if you want tour then maybe you have to know employees
