Distraught and depressed, Chiang runs across his old school chum Hero Hwa (Lau), who has since become a low-level triad. Chiang wants to help his friend, despite the red warning flags which their conversation sends up, so he gets Hwa a job at his company. Hwa almost gets fired in short order, but charms his uptight female boss and saves his position, at least temporarily. Hwa isn't the only one crossing the tracks romantically, as Chiang gets some spice in what remains of his life when he falls for a tough biker girl named Fanny (Fennie Yuen). Chiang's mistake is deciding to break up with Fanny before his brain tumor kills him. His intentions are honorable, as he hopes to spare her the grief of watching him die, but Fanny thinks he's being a scoundrel, and her father (Michael Chan) -- a triad crime lord -- sends his gangsters to kill the hapless insurance broker.
